Crypto battle royale shooter Off the Grid has started handing out $3,000 in cash every day, split between its top 10 players across platforms. On top of this, top video game streamers are set to battle it out for a $600,000 prize pool next week in a livestreamed competition.

Avalanche-based third-person shooter Off the Grid drops players into a faux reality TV show experience, where everyone is strapped with powerful robotic limbs in a bloodthirsty showdown. The extraction-focused battle royale game launched in early access to buzzy excitement in October, becoming the top free title on the Epic Games Store as gameplay clips went viral on social media.

On Wednesday, Off the Grid developer Gunzilla Games announced Clash for Cash, a promotion that will dish out $3,000 daily to players finishing in the top 10 of a newly created leaderboard. Starting everyday at 8pm UTC, players will battle it out attempting to get more kills, assists, extractions, and battle royale wins than everyone else.

🚨 Ready to dominate in Off The Grid? Introducing the daily Clash for Cash tournament with a $3,000 prize pool, LIVE! 🏆

Compete in our Extraction Royale mode every day at 20:00 UTC for your shot at the top 10 and big cash prizes. 💸

First place on the leaderboard pockets $1,000 to themselves, with second and third place finishers rewarded with $500 and $400 respectively. Prizes scale down to $50 for landing in 10th place each day. While Off the Grid is built on the Avalanche blockchain network and will have its own GUN token in the future, the competition says it’s paying out cash for this promotion.

Anyone over the age of 18 can register via the Clash for Cash website to compete for free—you only need to register to claim rewards. If you’re skilled (or lucky) enough to win a cash prize, you must claim your reward from the same website within 48 hours of each day’s finish.

The scoring system is fairly simple: Kills grant two points, assists one point, and hex extractions six points each. But the bulk of points will come from battle royale placements, with 45 points for a victory and 10 points for 10th place.

On Thursday, Off the Grid also announced its All-Stars Streamer Invitational tournament with a $600,000 prize pool. Set to go down on Wednesday, November 20, the tournament will see 60 of the top video game streamers—including xQc, Scump, and IcemanIsaac—fight it out in three-player teams over six matches.

Each match will have its own $90,000 prize pool, with the first place team set to get $60,000, with second and third getting $20,000 and $10,000 respectively. There’s also a bonus $60,000 up for grabs for the three streamers with the most eliminations.

While it is technically considered a crypto game, Off the Grid still has yet to implement any crypto elements. Gunzilla Games has said that a GUN token is in the works and that there are plans to implement NFTs as in-game items, but these features are not yet in the game.

However, it appears that Gunzilla’s Avalanche-based GUNZ network is running behind the scenes in testnet. There’s no word yet on when GUNZ is planned to launch in mainnet, or when the game will fully implement its planned crypto features.
