Ethereum’s [ETH] Co-founder Vitalik Buterin is in the news today after he unveiled his objectives for 2025. Unsurprisingly, Ethereum’s L1 roadmap topped the list.
Some of his goals, like decentralization and resilience (security), mirrored the ‘twin’ targets of the newly structured Ethereum Foundation leadership.
Privacy and open source tech are also key priorities for the exec. In fact, he reiterated privacy on front-end user systems like apps or wallets.

Beyond Ethereum, Buterin is also interested in governance, open-source funding, and bio defense.
Ethereum’s upgrades – Impact on ETH
Here, it’s worth noting that the much-awaited Ethereum Pectra upgrade is scheduled to go live on the Mainnet on 07 May. The upgrade aims to improve staking and wallet features, among other things, but it has faced several delays due to bugs.
After Pectra, the next upgrade will be Fusaka, aimed at further scaling to allow Ethereum and L2 apps to handle more data.
Additionally, there has been a push for L2 interoperability to fix the liquidity fragmentation issue in Ethereum.
Collectively, these updates are designed to make Ethereum more competitive in the L1 space.
However, are speculators bullish and happy about these updates? Probably yes, going by the ‘Greed’ reading on Ethereum’s fear and green index (FGI) on 1 May.
On the 12-hour price chart, ETH seemed to be on a bullish trend. In fact, since 22 April, the Super Trend indicator has flashed a ‘buy’ signal.
The altcoin has pumpedby 20% from $1.5k to $1.8k since the buy signal appeared.

The $1.9k-level is the main short-term target and will be breached unless the Super Trend flashes a ‘sell’ signal before hitting it.
