Rapper Heather “Razzlekhan” Morgan is back and dropping the first of two new singles ahead of serving 18 months in prison for her role in an infamous, multi-billion-dollar Bitcoin heist.

The notorious entrepreneur and musician teased the new single and music video in recent days. Released Friday, Morgan described her new track “Razzlekhan vs. The United States” in a statement as a “misfits’ anthem.”

Morgan further said that the song is based on her experiences during the case that stemmed from her arrest in 2022 all the way through to her conviction and sentencing for money laundering last year.

Featuring Morgan in bondage gear, the video has “hidden messages and social commentary” throughout, she told Decrypt in an interview.

“I don’t want to spell out everything since I intentionally left a lot of hidden messages to be deciphered,” Morgan said.

“A core theme is that there’s a struggle between normies and people who refuse to conform, like me,” she continued. “I want my misfit ‘Razzlers’ to know that they’re not alone, and that we are stronger together.”

“Razzlekhan vs. The United States” was released via Morgan’s Razzlekhan YouTube channel, coinciding with the song being released on streaming music services. A second song, “Diplomat Pussy,” is expected to drop on January 24.

In November, Morgan was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for money laundering, while her husband Ilya “Dutch” Lichtenstein received five years for orchestrating the Bitfinex hack. The pair were convicted over the 2016 theft of Bitcoin valued at more than $11 billion at the current price.

Morgan shows off her ankle monitor in the music video, as she’s done in other YouTube updates. A court filing recommends that she report to the low-security prison FCI Danbury in Connecticut on January 24 at the earliest, though the Bureau of Prisons will make the final call on her report date.

“I’m basically treating it like I’m studying abroad in the 90s, and a combo of that and preparing to go into a coma,” Morgan said. “So there’s just a lot of logistical things I have to do in order to be as little of a burden to my family and loved ones as possible.”

“Razzlekhan vs. The United States” marks Morgan’s first release since her February 2022 arrest by the U.S. Justice Department.

The Bitfinex heist

In August 2016, Lichtenstein infiltrated the crypto exchange Bitfinex, resulting in the theft of nearly 120,000 Bitcoin.

When the assets were stolen, they were worth approximately $72 million. With a crypto market surge pushing Bitcoin to new all-time highs since the election of Donald Trump in November, those Bitcoin today would be worth around $11.2 billion, according to CoinGecko data.

According to prosecutors, Morgan assisted Lichtenstein in laundering the stolen funds until their arrest. Morgan and Lichtenstein were charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to defraud the United States. While the pair were convicted in relation to the Bitfinex case, DOJ officials said there were “no victims.”

“For Crime Victims’ Rights Act purposes, the government’s position is that there are no ‘victims’ of the offenses of conviction,” the DOJ said. “The Department is providing this notice out of an abundance of caution.”

In December, a video of a prison call from Lichtenstein was shared via his X account, with the convicted thief saying “Free Razzlekhan,” and claiming that it was all his fault and that his wife wasn’t involved.

Hollywood has taken notice of Morgan and Lichtenstein’s story inspiring both a recent Netflix documentary, “The Biggest Heist Ever,” and an upcoming Amazon Studios feature film called “Dutch & Razzlekhan.”

While Morgan awaits her fate, the lyricist-turned-outlaw has been creating videos on the celebrity video message platform Cameo as a way to stay connected with fans—and earn some cash—by offering personalized shoutouts.

“I really missed interacting with my fans during our case,” Morgan said. “I want to do something even more meaningful for my community of Razzlers after I’m out, but for now, Cameo seemed like an easy way to do that. I probably won’t keep doing Cameo after I get out of prison, but it’s been a lot of fun to do on house arrest, though.”
