Telegram Game ‘Seed’ Reveals Sui Airdrop Details Ahead of Mining Phase End

Popular Telegram crypto game Seed announced this week that it’s in the final stretch of gameplay ahead of its token launch, which will likely be followed by its airdrop. And for those looking to maximize their token allocation, all airdrop farming methods will be stopped on January 15.

Seed follows in the footsteps of many Telegram mini apps of the past. At its core, it leverages viral mechanics—like referral schemes, and in-game progression for completing social tasks—with an animal collection mechanic on top of it, all motivated by players wanting to get a healthy slice of a future token airdrop.

This combination has pumped its social stats across the board, with Seed drawing in over 17 million Telegram channel subscribers, 2.5 million X (formerly known as Twitter) followers, and 2.72 million YouTube subscribers. The game says that it has drawn more than 60 million players to date for its Telegram game.

Ahead of the mini-app’s token launch on layer-1 network Sui, Seed also revealed that its token supply will be 1 billion, added five final tasks, and confirmed the previous announcement that airdrop farming will finish on January 15.

Branded as the “final push,” it’s likely the token generation event or TGE will quickly follow. By looking at previous Telegram games, we can assume that alongside the token launch that airdrop participants will also receive their allocation. Before then, however, we may see pre-market trading open up and allocations be revealed.

In the past, we’ve seen Telegram airdrops disappoint player bases. For example when Hamster Kombat—the most popular game in this niche—delivered its airdrop, players complained about receiving “dust.” Some said their bag was so small that they couldn’t even afford to sell it. 

That said, Hamster Kombat’s HMSTR token launch was the fifth biggest in crypto gaming last year with Notcoin (NOT), the first-mover Telegram game, taking the top spot. 

These games then face an existential question of how to keep players interested in the project beyond the airdrop, which motivates most player activity. A December announcement claimed that 70% of Seed’s token supply would be allocated to the community, including this current airdrop and “future phases.” It noted that a detailed breakdown will be released soon.

On top of this, Seed has started to tease its plans for a new game after the airdrop, via a YouTube trailer. This evolution of the Telegram mini app looks to build upon its animal collection elements by taking it into the real world, very much akin to Pokémon Go. According to the Telegram announcement, the game appears to be named Seedmon. 

But players will have to wait for the token launch and airdrop to take place before gaining access to this new title, with no official date set for its release.
